Day 4

Off to the snow!

Yes, we have read all those challenges.  The teaching staff are up to all challenges put forward - so bring it on!!!  We're rugged up and ready to go!

Login later for Group 4's comments about today (Gabriella, Jasmine D, Lauren, Olivia S, Tish, Britney, Will, Seb and Brodie)
Year 7s just before the snowball fight of the century
Well this is my first effort at Blogging:
We went to the snow. We had fun.

Even though I hadn’t skied before, I loved it. At the end of the day I was skiing like a “pro”! Jasmine D
I enjoyed the snow. I didn’t see any yellow patches! It was frustrating learning to ski at the start but in the end I still had fun and learned how to ski. Brodie

I enjoyed the snow and enjoyed my one chance at beating Brodie down the slope! The day was fantastic! Tish
I had awesome fun on the “J run” ski slope and throwing a GIGANTIC snowball at Mr. Beiers! Britney
The snow was fabulous! Skiing was nerve-wracking at the start but at the end of the day it was wonderful. Olivia S
Skiing was fun and enjoyable all day except when I ran into a tree that someone had planted in the wrong place! Gabriella
The snow today was amazing! It was as good as it was at Perisher. I had a lot of fun with my friends and watching Mr. Beiers wipe out at high speed! Will
We had lessons with the Pros in the morning
The snow fields were fabulous! I fell down a couple of times. We had a snowball fight with the teachers and the students were victorious! Lauren

Lining up for delicious dinner

LEESON-FORCE after a hard day on the slopes

It was wonderful to see the students' attitude today - they were determined to be able to ski by the end of the day.  After lunch most of the group were looking good and riding up and down the hills like they had done it many times before.  and the best bit was - no injuries!!  the weather was sunny (hot actually) and it made for a great day on the snow.  We are all glad to have had the experience.

We cant wait to see what Sydney has to offer tomorrow.

Cheers!!!
Paul

  1. Hope you have great weather at the snow and it is too too too much fun. Mrs Williams take care when getting out of the bus, you may disappear again in the snow on the side of the road! One of my favourite memories from the last trip....first she is there... then she is gone! ha ha.
The Alpine lodge looks wonderful and cozy in the pics you have shared, I hope you are all still getting lots of sleep. Take care, Miss McCarthy.

  4. Hi Izy K

Hope you have the best day ever at the snow - I am jealous of all the fun that you are having, but not jealous of the COLD ! The pussy cat is back, and tried to get into Lily's pram yesterday afternoon - Lily thought it was very entertaining ! Heywood lost another tooth, I reckon he pulls them out to get money from the tooth fairy ! Tim is back home from Townsville, and I watched the X-Factor last night, and Oadile/Oadale (not sure how you spell it !) was voted off by the judges, I think he is the one from QLD. Nana popped around yesterday to give you some new summer pj's, they are pretty cool, I think you will like them. Hope all is going well, and you are having the time of your life, be safe, keep warm, we all love you and miss you, MUM, xoxoxxo

  7. Hi Seb,
We hope you had a good day in the snow (I'm jealous).

It's your first attempt at skiing so we hope you managed to gain enough skills today to at least have a bit of fun skiing on some easier slopes.

I'm sure heaps of fun and laughter would have been had by all, learning to navigate your way on ski's for the first time.
I understand there are few that have already spent a bit on ski's before today but for the new comers to skiing, it would have been very entertaining and maybe just a little frustrating at times. (Just ask Mum she'll tell you about the sore bum she had after her first and only attempt) I hope the thrills out mumbered the spills and sore behinds.

I hope the teachers also had heaps of fun in the snow and avoided having too many spills of their own.

Enjoy you next destination, I'm sure the snow will be hard to beat!

    Lots of Love

    Dad, Mum and Laura xxx

Your brother asked where you were Monday night - were you at Taekwondo? ha ha ha. He is in exam block so I am hoping this means his mind is on his studies. He must be missing you as he said it is very quiet without you. Looking forward to your comments tomorrow on the blog. Let us know how you are.
Missing you lots (but not missing running you around).
Love you. Moochie, Dad and Randall XXXHHH

  13. Hi Hayley

Hope you had heaps of fun skiing today. Did you remember how to do it?

We got home and the cat was asleep. Not just asleep but upside down asleep. There was evidence that he had had slept in three spots in the sun today. He obviously wore himself out moving to those three spots because he put himself to bed at 4pm. I think I might go and wake him up.

Matt and I just ran down to the river because there was a really big and really noisy Army helicopter hovering just above the water.

Sleep well. Love you and miss you lots. Mum and Matt xxxx

  16. Hello Year 7's! Sounds like you've had lots of fun over the past few days. I hope you all enjoyed the snow today!! Was very weird not going to St Catherine's today to see you. From Miss Vaux :)

  17. Hi, Kathleen

Hope skiing was as much fun as you remember and that you had fun. Sean has been off school for the last two days, so he is most definitely not having fun. Since he has been sick he hasn't been near your fish - so they are healthy! Ozzie was looking for you in your room yesterday - was a bit of a sad sack for a while but quickly got over it once he was fed - so he misses you but apparently food is still his first love!! Missing you x Mum

  19. Hi Sarah,

Well, how was the skiing? Did you manage to stay uninjured? those knees and ankles of yours are a bit prone to giving way! I suspect you learnt to ski just like the roller skating - very funny!, but ending up an expert. I'm very jealous, skiing is one of the things I've never done, so I hoped you enjoyed your day. Can't wait to hear the requests of 'lets going skiing mum! please, please, please!'Went to your high school orientation today, was very informative - will fill you in when you get home. Have fun for the rest of your camp. Love MUM xx
PS Ryan was in fine form today - I miss your great negotiation skills with the little fellow!

Wish you and fellow campers are well. How was the skiing today and is anyone up to the challenge of the full 700m slope? Did anyone get car-sick on the way to and from the Smiggins? I have been logging onto the blog site non-stop and can't wait to see the photos and comments for the day. The blog site is a real credit to Mrs Peasey and St Catherines' and I felt so connected and informed at all times...psst plus reading other family chat as well Hee Hee. Do have a lovely trip and enjoy the time in Sydney.

  34. I've tried a few times to post something without success...Third time lucky?

    Good Morning Kathleen!

We are really enjoying the Blog and hearing of all the things you are seeing and the fantastic experiences you are having. It makes it seem that you are not quite so far away.

I hope you had a blast in the snow yesterday! Did you remember any of your ski talents from NZ? Which teacher did you enjoy pelting snowballs at the best? Maybe don't answer that until you get back!

I got back from tropical Townsville yesterday. Sean is coughing up his guts and Ozzie is looking lost without you. I looked in on your fish and they are happily darting around your tank. Mom must be looking after them well.

Have a good trip to Sydney and I hope you are taking heaps of photos to share.

Thanks again for the great Blogging guys. Travel safely all of you.

    Miss you heaps Kathleen!

    Lots of Love

    Dad
